Design Process
Customer Brief
Mr and Mrs Etchells were looking for a bespoke kitchen design to fit their, newly created, open plan space. Their preference was for a traditional style kitchen with a contemporary feel and matt painted finish. Their chosen colours were anthracite and limestone.
There was also a requirement to include a suite of NEFF built-in appliances, a large island, with seating, and a butler’s pantry.
The Design
A tall bank of furniture proved to be the best option to house many of the built-in appliances and also meant we could include a lot of useful, pull-out, storage. A series of wide pan drawer units with internal cutlery/utensil organisers were also included as they offered our customer’s a large amount of functional, easy-access, storage space.
The final design included furniture from the Mackintosh Manor House range, in anthracite and limestone and quartz worksurfaces with NEFF built-in appliances and a Quooker Classic Pro 3 boiling tap.
Client Review
“Six years ago Jason designed our dream kitchen. We loved it and never expected to need to replace it! But we love this one more.
Unfortunately, as a result of a flood, our kitchen was extensively damaged and had to be taken out. We were also in the process of an extension and new roof and so it turned out to be a major refurbishement. As well as meeting with Jason at the shop, he made many site visits to check the space and re-measure following each stage of the rebuild.
Jason went beyond just the kitchen design and produced images of how the entire finished build would look which helped us to visualise the new open plan space. Having removed a wall we were able to extend the kitchen a little and make a few modifications to the previous kitchen to incorporate a larder, more drawers and a longer island.
Jason listens carefully to what you want and advises what is possible and how it can be achieved. Always professional and patient, he kept us updated throughout. Because of building issues and Covid, it has taken 12 months from planning to install completion but it’s been worth the wait.
Another first class job and we’d highly recommend using Mark Johnson Kitchens.”
